Overview
Photodata Pro is a macOS application for viewing and editing the metadata embedded in your photo files — including dates, GPS locations, camera information, and exposure settings. The app is designed from the ground up to operate entirely on your device, with no internet connection required and no data ever leaving your Mac.
Data We Do Not Collect
We do not collect any of the following:
- Your photos or image files
- Any metadata you view or edit within the app
- GPS coordinates or location information
- Your name, email address, or any personally identifiable information
- Device identifiers, IP addresses, or usage statistics
- Crash reports or diagnostic data
- Any analytics of any kind
How the App Works
All operations performed by Photodata Pro occur entirely on your Mac:
- File access: The app reads and writes metadata directly to your photo files using macOS system frameworks. Files are never copied or transmitted.
- Apple Photos integration: When you import photos from your Apple Photos library, access is granted by you through the standard macOS photo picker. The app only accesses the specific photos you select, and only for the purpose of reading or writing metadata.
- Map view: The interactive map for setting GPS coordinates uses Apple Maps, which is rendered locally on your device. No location data is sent to us.
No Internet Connection Required
Photodata Pro does not make any network requests. The app functions fully offline and does not require an internet connection at any point during normal use.
No Third-Party SDKs or Analytics
Photodata Pro does not include any third-party analytics libraries, advertising SDKs, or tracking frameworks. There are no embedded services that could collect data on our behalf.
Photos Library Access
If you choose to import photos from your Apple Photos library, macOS will ask for your permission before granting access. You control which photos the app can access. This permission can be reviewed or revoked at any time in System Settings → Privacy & Security → Photos.
Children's Privacy
Photodata Pro does not collect any information from anyone, including children. The app is not directed at children and does not knowingly interact with users under the age of 13.
Changes to This Policy
If this privacy policy is ever updated, the revised version will be posted at this URL with an updated effective date. Given the nature of the app — no data collection of any kind — we do not anticipate meaningful changes to this policy.
